The HCM City Arts Centre is presenting a new circus and puppetry art show, Mơ Show (Dreamscape Show), to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sài Gòn – Gia Định.
The show combines circus acts, puppetry, projection mapping, and cutting-edge stage technology to tell the coming-of-age story of a child from his first waking memory to his exploring of his inner world. Featuring 150 artists and performers from the Ho Chi Minh City Arts Centre, the Vietnam Intermediate School of Circus and Variety Arts, and other art troupes, the show aims to reflect themes of growth, aspirations, and dreams.
The show will be held at the Phú Thọ Circus and Multi-purpose Performance Theatre—Vietnam’s most technologically advanced theater, with a 12-floor and 2-basement structure, a 2,000-seat capacity for its auditorium, and multi-purpose performance zones, and training and practice rooms. Built as part of the anniversary of Vietnam’s reunification celebration last 2025, the building is equipped with advanced systems to support various performing arts such as circus, puppetry, musicals, concerts, and even traditional arts performances such as cải lương (reformed opera) and tuồng cổ (classical drama).
