The HCM City Arts Centre is presenting a new circus and puppetry art show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Saigon-Gia Dinh this 2026.
Titled Mơ Show (Dreamscape Show), the performance combines circus acts, puppetry, projection mapping, and stage technology to tell a coming-of-age story exploring growth and dreams. And with the involvement of over 150 artists and performers from the HCM City Arts Centre, the Vietnam Intermediate School of Circus and Variety Arts, and other art troupes, the show reflects the uniqueness and variety of Vietnam’s performance arts.
Mo Show is a grand celebration that marks a significant milestone as the first art show to debut at the Phú Thọ Circus and Multi-purpose Performance Theatre. The building is Vietnam’s most technologically advanced theater venue, costing VNĐ1.4 trillion (US$53 million) to build, with 2,000 seats in the main auditorium, a 12-story circus with 2 basements, multi-purpose performance zones, and training and practice rooms. It also includes advanced lighting, sound and mechanical systems to support complicated acts in various performing arts such as circus, puppetry, musical, music concert, traditional arts performances such as cải lương (reformed opera) and tuồng cổ (classical drama), and experimental arts.
