Something is cooking this September with the return of MasterChef Asia!
The Southeast Asian leg of the popular cooking competition is back after a decade-long hiatus this September. Acclaimed culinary figures will be judging, namely Chef Edward Lee, Chef “Pam” Pichaya S., and Chef Kelvin Cheung. Alongside them are guest judges like food personality Mark Wiens, Filipino creator and chef Abi Marquez, Chef Ken Chong, and Chef Julien Tongourian. Together, they will be tasting and evaluating the dishes of 10 returning contestants in a span of 10 episodes.
Rejoining as participants are Vietnamese-Australian chef Khanh Ong; restaurant owner Sahadol “Pond” Tantrapim; Malaysian pastry chef Marcus Low; Korean gastronomy specialist Areum Yoon; “Culinary and Cultural Ambassador of Meghalaya” Nambie Jessica Marak; and Asian cuisine chefs Audrey Wicksana, Therese Lum, Mime Kataniwa, Ivory Yat, and Sandy Tang of Macau.
All of them will be competing in Macau at historic local markets, Michelin-starred restaurants, and an exclusive MasterChef Asia kitchen that showcases the country’s food culture as the backdrop of the high-pressure competition.
Catch the new season of MasterChef Asia premiering this September 22 on HBO Max across the Southeast Asian region and on September 23 at the Discovery Channel.
