After the fall comes…another fall.
Fall 2: Deadpoint is a sequel to the survival psychological thriller film Fall (2022) about women who get stranded on top of a television broadcasting tower. This time, two women find themselves fighting for survival after a mountain rockslide leaves them stranded on a fragile plank 11,000 feet above ground.
Did the sequel survive the climb, or did it fall short? This is SEA Wave’s High Five Review of Fall 2: Deadpoint. Spoilers ahead.
Here We Go Again
Fall 2 follows the same formula as its predecessor: the characters do something they shouldn’t do and end up in a situation they shouldn’t be in. It’s another story driven by grief, pushing someone out of their comfort zone, only to be put in the most insane scenario possible.
Part of the thrill feels diluted because you know they will make it out somehow. The question becomes less about whether they’ll survive and more about how they’ll get out of it. But the film does eventually take a new path away from its familiar premise.
Dangerous New Heights

Fall 2 takes place in a new, dangerous setting: an unstable wooden plank walk hanging off the cliffside of the fictional Mount Kwan in Thailand. But despite being much higher, the sequel feels less terrifying. Unlike the original’s 360-degree exposure over open air, the mountain wall provides some physical backing. It’s still nauseating to witness, but the setting doesn’t quite deliver the same fear.
However, the sequel raises the stakes by incorporating severe, unpredictable weather conditions alongside physiological distress like dropping oxygen levels at extreme altitudes. It goes to great lengths to put its characters through hell. But for one of them, the past comes along for the climb.
This is Hunter’s World

Hunter’s death in Fall was one of the film’s defining moments, and its impact carries into Fall 2. Her legacy continues to shape both the narrative and its characters. So while the sequel attempts to tell its own story, it’s constantly in the shadow of what came before it.
That, however, also becomes one of Fall 2’s strengths, giving the continuation a greater sense of purpose. From the moment it opens, the film makes it clear that this is Hunter’s story, just not the Hunter we knew before. By making her sister the new center of the story, the sequel carries over familiar themes while giving its high-adrenaline thrills a more personal dimension.
A Hail Mary Twist

Fall 2 follows familiar patterns that make it predictable, until its final act throws a wrench into everything. Like its predecessor, the sequel delivers killer twists surrounding its characters’ true identities and motives.
One in particular leads to a shocking betrayal that introduces an unexpected villain and shifts the story’s tone. Just when it seems everything has worked out too easily, the revelation unleashes jaw-dropping moments that give the otherwise familiar survival thriller a much-needed jolt of excitement.
And the film ends with a promise of something more.
It’s a Trilogy?

One of the biggest surprises is how connected the film is to the first one. But just when you think it’s all over, it reveals that the story has bigger plans. What starts as a continuation suddenly lays the groundwork for a full-blown trilogy.
Whatever comes next, the danger looks set to reach new heights, with the surviving characters at the center of the madness. Fall 2 leaves plenty of room for the next film to go even higher, deadlier, and crazier.
A third Fall film has officially been greenlit by Capstone Studios and Lionsgate, so we’ll have to see how they outdo this one.
For now, SEA Wave rates Fall 2: Deadpoint, 3 of 5 waves.
