Spread the love

Step into amazing new worlds in Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. Based on C.S. Lewis’ timeless story, acclaimed director Greta Gerwig invites audiences to the beginning: the creation of Narnia.

Known for her acclaimed films such Lady Bird, Little Women, and Barbie, Gerwig has been in love with the world of Narnia since her childhood. “I was a child when I first read The Magician’s Nephew, and I fell in love with the gorgeously improbable but completely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion singing the world of Narnia to life,” she shared.

The upcoming film follows two children who experiment with magical rings and stumble upon an interdimensional entryway into infinite parallel worlds. While exploring, the pair encounter magical creatures, dying worlds, and a tyrannical sorceress, which ends up pulling them into an empty void where the lion, Aslan, sings the world of Narnia into existence.

“I didn’t know that I would grow up to make films, but a universe built out of music is an idea that has always lived in my heart. It is the honor of a lifetime to be asked to imagine it into being. Because of C. S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia, I believed in magic and hidden worlds and adventure. I believed that anywhere could be enchanted, and that anyone could be swept up into an epic. That wonder and awe was available to everyone, even ordinary people like me…It transformed me,” Gerwig added.

A universe awakens as Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew arrives in the Philippines on February 10, 2027.
