Sony reveals PS5 logo and major hardware upgrades

Sony revealed the logo of its next-generation gaming console, PlayStation 5 (PS5), at the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The logo became a talk of the town because it is basically the same logo design as PS4 but with the number 5. The new logo is not a surprise because it also looks identical to the earlier PlayStation logos such as PS2 and PS3.

This is not just the highlight as Sony also revealed during the announcement the key hardware features of the upcoming console such as 3D Audio Sound for maximum audio performance, Haptics/ Adaptive Triggers for the superb gaming controller, Ultra-High Speed SSD for faster response time, Hardware-based Ray Tracing for superior graphics and Ultra HD Blu-ray player to support high capacity gaming discs and high-definition media. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan also teased that they would release much more information in the upcoming months.

Everyone in the gaming community is excited to learn more about the next generation PlayStation especially the final look of the console as the gaming console war continues in the following months. Both Sony’s PlayStation 5 and its main competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox Series X are slated to be available on the Holidays of 2020.
