As otakus who live for anime, we are all too familiar with the long months of waiting for another season of our favorite shows. Here is SEA Wave’s High Five anime titles that fans have been highly anticipating this year!
Attack on Titan Season 4
After years of desperately trying to figure out the mystery of the Titans and the Walls, Attack on Titan is finally gearing for its final season. Fans are hotly anticipating to get the answers they have been waiting for as Eren and the Survey Corps venture further beyond the Walls. In the last season the Survey Corps discovers the truth behind the Titans and the world beyond the Walls, Eren and the people left in the Survey Corps realize that the true battle for their freedom had just begun. Attack on Titan is set to air sometime in September.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2
Our favorite slime is back with more action and overpowered battles! That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime easily became one of the most popular anime in the isekai genre following Rimuru, a salaryman who died and got reincarnated into an overpowered slime and ends up befriending the monsters he encounters. Season two will continue to follow his crew’s adventures and their journey towards defeating the Demon Lord. The anime is set to air the second season in October 2020.
Shokugeki no Soma Fifth Plate
Fans have been dying to see more of the delicious dishes that our favorite Totsuki students are making. As the Totsuki train arc ended in the last season, fifth plate is expected to follow the remaining chapters of the manga. Since not everyone is a manga reader we’ll hold off on the spoilers, but Fifth Plate is expected to be the last season for Shokugeki no Soma and will finally air this April!
KonoSuba: Legend of Crimson
Yes, we’re all stoked to see Kazuma, Aqua, Darkness and Megumin come back for more troublesome adventures! The movie will be centered on the gang travelling to Megumin and Yunyun’s hometown to save it from the imminent threat it’s facing. And it will be up to Kazuma’s hands and his crew of weirdos to save the day! KonoSuba: Legend of Crimson will be premiering in cinemas this March.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Train Arc
Possibly the most anticipated anime in the list would be the Demon Slayer movie, which will follow the events right after the last episode of season 1. The teaser showed that Rengoku, the Flame Pillar, will be one of the major characters in the film, and while manga readers are freaking out about the events that will happen in the train arc, we must be patient, because no spoilers shall be uttered in this article. After the first season, the manga sold a record breaking of 800,000 volumes sold, beating One Piece! It has continued to be one of the most popular titles even now and with the upcoming movie, manga sales are bound to increase even further. No official dates have been announced regarding the premiere of the movie, but it is expected to be released sometime in July or August.
