Spotify now lets you sing-along as you listen to any song with its latest real-time lyrics feature.

The popular music streaming app has officially launched Lyrics to all of its users in 26 countries across the globe, including nations in Southeast Asia. Listeners in Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong can enjoy the new feature by tapping the “lyrics” card at the bottom of the service’s “Now Playing” screen. The lyrics will be shown in the language they are sung.

“Lyrics has been one of the most requested features by Spotify users and we’re excited to make song lyrics available to listeners in Southeast Asia,” says Spotify Asia’s Editorial Team Lead Boon Ken Wong via a press statement.

According to Tech Crunch, the reason why there is a delay in the roll-out lyrics is because of “complexities around lyrics and licensing”. The legalities has been a struggle for music streaming services such as Spotify to offer licensed lyrics to their users.

Spotify is available on Google Play Store and App Store.
