Netflix drops trailer for 1930s Hollywood biopic “Mank”

Witness 1930s Hollywood through the eyes of an insider with Netflix’s upcoming film Mank. This biographical drama follows scathing social critic and alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) as he races to finish the screenplay of Citizen Kane for Orson Welles.

Directed by David Fincher (The Social Network, Gone Girl) and written by his father Jack Fincher in the 1990s, the film explores the dark side of Hollywood from the perspective of someone who lived through it. Mank features an all-star cast including Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Arliss Howard and Tom Pelphrey, and is expected to be a critical hit in the upcoming awards season.
