As Spider-Man 3 nears its premiere date on December 17, cast members Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon and Zendaya dropped not one, but three, “official” movie titles that have got fans perplexed, baffled, electrified, and even theorizing about the upcoming addition to the Spider-Man franchise!

On Instagram, the Spider-Man 3 trio each posted on different titles for the unnamed movie. Namely: Phone Home (Holland), Home-Wrecker (Batalon), and Home Slice (Zendaya).

Although nothing is confirmed yet, Spider-Man 3 already alludes to Holland’s entrance into the multiverse from the 2018 hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, while rumors say there will be unexpected characters making mind-blowing comebacks from the entire live Spider-Man franchise.

Fans are then speculating the titles have something to do with the movie’s plot; suggesting that their mismatched looks represent certain villains on their way.

Holland, Batalon and Zendaya are also playing along with the internet by commenting on each other’s posts. For instance, Holland was just as confused as all the fans when he commented on Batalon’s post with, “Wait what?!?!?!”.

On the subject of speculations, fans even then were already theorizing that former Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were to make a return for the movie. A representative from the studio released a statement expressing that this is not confirmed. However, that doesn’t mean it can’t be true sometime later.

But, speculations off to the side, what exactly could the different titles mean? Are we hoping to expect something big, real soon? Is this a tease to an official announcement? Are any of these guesses actually true? AND why is the movie not out yet?!

We’re just so excited and we just want to know!

Sadly, however, all we can do is for now is wait patiently. In the meantime, here’s a quick recollection of what’s already been confirmed for the upcoming blockbuster (it’s not yet a blockbuster per se, but you can already tell that it will be).

Stars that have already confirmed to be part of the movie include Jamie Foxx as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2. Moreover, Benedict Cumberbatch, the Doctor Strange manifestation that will play his role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, will be the mentor of Spider-Man for Spider-Man 3.

Spider-Man 3 will come out in the United States on December 17, 2021. The movie is directed by Jon Watts, co-produced by Marvel Studios, written by Far From Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
