Calling all fans of The Addams Family! Netflix is finally releasing a live-action spin-off series based on the beloved gothic family entitled “Wednesday”, which puts the spotlight on Wednesday Addams.
Tim Burton will be directing the show, marking his debut helming a series, together with Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.
The show follows Wednesday Addams as she comes-of-age in Nevermore Academy, navigating through her relationships in her new surroundings, the multiple killing sprees in a local town, her family’s supernatural mystery from 25 years ago, all while trying to master her psychic abilities.
The role of Wednesday Addams has been played by notable actresses, including Christina Ricci in the 90’s, Krysta Rodriguez on Broadway, and Chloë Grace Moretz voicing in the most recent animated film “That Addams Family”.
There is no official announcement as to which lucky actress will play the titular character in this particular adaptation from Netflix. Though we don’t know much about the up-and-coming show, the poster released shows us a Wednesday Addams nestling in the shadows as she plays the cello with a knife.
From this, we do know that the show’s creators plan to keep this iconic character faithful to its source material.
Spanning eight episodes, this coming-of-age show has sparked excitement from fans everywhere as they wait for news of the date of its release.
