Square Enix just premiered a virtual showcase announcing their games slated for release this year (watch the Square Enix Presents video here). The global gaming community was in an uproar after the digital showcase, but what exactly were they excited about? Find out Square Enix’s highly anticipated video game line-up for 2020 below!
Life is Strange: True Colors
Following two critically and commercially successful games in Life is Strange and Life is Strange 2, a new graphic adventure begins with Life is Strange: True Colors. This new expansion follows Alex Chen, an Asian-American woman from a foster family who recently reunited with her brother Gabe. When her brother dies from a tragic “accident”, Alex is forced to rely on her long-suppressed abilities to uncover the truth behind Gabe’s death.
The game will be available for purchase on September 10, 2021 for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X as a stand-alone expansion or through the Ultimate Edition bundle release which will include the remastered versions of the first two gameplays.

Forspoken
Previously known by its working title Project Athia, this upcoming fantasy adventure game was officially rechristened Forspoken at the Square Enix showcase. Get ready for a magical and perilous journey with Frey Holland, a young woman who unlocks her magical powers to survive in the fantastic world of Athia. The gameplay was developed by Luminous Productions and will be available on Playstation 5 and Windows PC in 2022.

Outriders
What about trying a game with an edgier side? Embark on a journey on the alien planet of Enoch, where you’ll find yourself in in a desperate life-or-death situation as the whole planet you’re on considers you as prey. But with mastery over time, space and matter, will you be able to survive this hostile battlefield?
This newest multiplayer co-op RPG shooting game is set to be released on April 1, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia.

Balan Wonderworld
Go on a quest in Wonderworld with Leo and Emma to restore balance and discover true happiness by defeating the Negati, the manifestations of worry and negative emotions.
The gameplay is a throwback to ‘90s platform games, which is no surprise considering that the director and artist duo of Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima who worked on this game also collaborated for the 1998 classic platformer Sonic Adventure.
The game will be available for purchase on March 26 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther DLC
Square Enix revealed the Marvel’s Avengers 2021 roadmap of releases for the action brawler game. With the abundance of updates and new features like new heroes and outfits, Square Enix has surely made gamers excited about this announcement, but fans are most looking forward to the climax of all the additional content – the War for Wakanda expansion pack.
That’s right, Black Panther is coming to Marvel’s Avengers along with a new story and new enemies including Klaw. This new DLC is expected to be released during the summer of this year so prepare yourself by watching the trailer below and stay tuned for updates.
Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy & 25th Anniversary
If you have been a big fan of Lara Croft all these years, then you’re in for a treat! Tomb Raider just got a three-game bundle for its 25-year anniversary. The bundle contains a complete origin collection based on the previous Tomb Raider titles including the DLC Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration and Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition.
The game trilogy has been available since March 18 so check it out by revisiting the glory days of Lara Croft below.
Just Cause Mobile
The third-person action-adventure open world game Just Cause is on its way to mobile phones. You will soon get to see your favorite secret agents Rico Rodriguez, Annika Svensson and a few other familiar faces on Android and iOS.
The mobile game version of Just Cause has different game modes such as co-op missions with four players, competitive multiplayer mode with 30 players, and a free-to-play package with an “action-packed story campaign.”
The game is expected to drop sometime within the year so in the meantime get hyped by watching the cinematic trailer below.
Space Invaders AR
Square Enix Montréal and Taito are bringing a major throwback with the upcoming Space Invaders AR game. The 43-year old arcade shooter gets a reboot as an exciting new augmented reality experience. Relive your childhood in a completely new way, or if you’re a young blood, then this is the chance to get familiar with this legendary game.
No word has been given yet on the release date for the game, but you can sign up here to get a chance to be part of the beta tests once they are made available in selected countries and regions.
