Disney is here to make your cruising dreams come true this summer 2022 as the Disney Cruise Line unveils a first look at their newest ship – the Disney Wish.
This cruise will transport you across the Disney universe and will immerse you in the world of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars like never before! The Disney Parks Blog showed us what we can expect from this whole new world on water. Without a doubt, this experience will not disappoint in bringing your favorite characters to life. Laura Cabo, the Portfolio Creative Executive of Walt Disney Imagineering shared some exciting details of the ship in the video below.
Just Keep Swimming
The Disney Wish has not one, not two, but three themed districts with a water attractions for all ages! The first-ever Disney attraction at sea, AquaMouse will be complete with light shows, special effects and full of surprises! It will feature a wild zig-zag ride that zooms down a 760 feet tube suspended above the upper decks. And of course, Disney will not leave the little ones out of the picture. A new Toy Story-themed district, water wonderland was designed especially for them with a splash zone, wading pool, family waterslide and smoothie bar! To top it off, the adults are provided a peaceful space too. The Quiet Cove features an infinity pool, poolside bar and a café where they can relax and be secluded.
The Disney Dining Experience
Diverse culinary experiences are on-board the Disney Wish to keep your stomachs happy! Dine while interacting with your favorite Disney characters as they keep you company. Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is Disney’s first Frozen-themed theatrical dining experience with your favorite characters from the franchise. To make it more in-tune with the theme, the cuisine served is infused with Nordic influences. Worlds of Marvel is the first-ever Marvel dining adventure, where you get to interact with the characters as if you are going on a mission with them. This will be topped off with a menu inspired from their cinematic universe. 1923, named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, pays tribute to their Californian roots with dishes inspired by a unique fusion of cultural flavors from the state.
Entertainment Everywhere
It’s definitely not a complete Disney experience without an immersive entertaining environment. The Grand Hall is the first ever atrium stage on a Disney ship to give you entertainment all throughout your time on board. Luna is an adult-exclusive entertainment hub which offers a variety of live and interactive shows throughout the day. Hero Zone transports you into a futuristic space with challenges and competitions for families to take on together. The Walt Disney Theatre brings Broadway-style stage productions to life and is exclusively planned for the Disney Cruise Line. The Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas are smaller spaces that allow intimate screening rooms where you can reminisce and watch classic movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and more.
Join the Club!
Many different Disney Oceaneer Clubs are prepared to give kids aged 3 to 12 a fun experience. Marvel Super Hero Academy transports the kids into the Avengers headquarters where they turn into recruits to train to be the next generation of Super Heroes. The Fairytale Hall brings princes and princesses into the art studio of Rapunzel, Belle’s library and the Sommerhus of Anna and Elsa. Walt Disney Imagineering Lab gives the kids a peek into the secrets of Disney Imagineers through hands-on activities and experiments. For the babies and toddlers from 6 months to 3 years, they get to spend time in It’s a Small World Nursery that offers babysitting services in an imaginative space inspired by the same Disney ride. Lastly, the Edge (ages 11 to 14) and Vibe (ages 14 to 17) hangout spaces are for pre-teens and teens to do what they want and engage in what interests them!
Adult-Exclusive Spaces
A luxurious bar exclusively for the adults will be on the ship! The Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge takes you to a galaxy far, far away with themed and interactive tasting experiences. There are also several dining areas inspired by Beauty and the Beast where gourmet meals and signature drinks will be served exclusively for the enjoyment of the adults. Palo Steakhouse combines authentic Italian cuisine with a modern steakhouse in a setting inspired by Cogsworth. Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement will be a luxurious dining experience paired with a gourmet menu crafted by a three-Michelin-starred chef, bringing romance onto the ship. The spirit of this dining area is inspired by Lumiere. The Rose is a lounge inspired by the rose of the story where pre-dinner aperitifs or after-dinner cocktails can be enjoyed. Aside from the adult-exclusive dining areas, the Senses Spa will offer serene spas and beauty treatments for the ultimate relaxing vacation.
Accommodation for Kings and Queens
After a long day of adventure and activities on board, Disney-inspired luxurious and spacious rooms will lull you into a deep slumber. On top of the ship’s 1,254 rooms, the Disney Wish will also debut four royal suites, with extravagant details and first-class amenities for up to six guests each room. Two of these are two-story suits, the first ever on a Disney ship.
The Disney Wish will sail its maiden course — a five-night cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay — on June 9, 2022, followed by an inaugural season of three- and four-night cruises to the same destinations from Port Canaveral, Florida. Bookings will be open to the general public on May 27, 2021 on the Disney Cruise website.
