We can say that one of the most intriguing MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) films is the upcoming third installation of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.

As its release date approaches, we are all waiting for the first trailer to reveal our favorite neighborhood hero! Here are the five major “Spider-Man: No Way Home” rumors we would love to see.

Multiverse

First from our list of rumors is the formal introduction of the “Multiverse”. It was first mentioned by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) at the “Spider-Man: Far from Home” but later on revealed as a bluff. This time it gets serious with the addition of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to the official line-up of the cast.

However, we are still considering this as a major rumor since there is no confirmation yet and we don’t want to expect too much like what happened to Evan Peters’ Quicksilver in WandaVision, right?

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man

Sony Animation’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse” showed us how multiple versions of Spider-Man can work and we would love to see that in live-action! One of the major rumors of “No Way Home” is that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will join Tom Holland and make an appearance as their own versions of Spider-Man! How cool is that, right?

This rumor started when Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock from Maguire’s Spider-Man 2 and Jamie Foxx’s Electro from Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 confirmed to be back for the movie. Make it finally happen, Sony!

Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock / Daredevil

When “Spider-Man: Far from Home” ended, Mysterio revealed the true identity of Spider-Man through J. Jonah Jameson’s (J.K. Simmons) Daily Bugle (now an online news site!) and in the comics, one of the ways Peter Parker escaped this reveal is with the help of the Hell’s Kitchen lawyer, Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil.

When Marvel TV and Netflix announced the cancellation of the Daredevil series, a lot of MCU fans are hoping that Charlie Cox will reprise his role but this time for the MCU. Given the current situation of Peter Parker, this is the perfect time for Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock to be back.

Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin

One of the latest rumors we heard is that Willem Dafoe will reprise his role as Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin for the upcoming film. Willem Dafoe first appeared as the iconic villain on Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man but was also killed at the end of the film.

If this rumor is true, it is thrilling to see how he will come back.

Sony’s Shared Marvel Universe

According to Sanford Panitch, Sony Executive in his interview with Variety, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will give a clearer view on what’s next for Marvel Studios’ co-produced Spider-Man and if and how it will be connected to Sony’s own “Spidey-verse” with iconic Spider-Man characters like Venom, Carnage, Mobius and the recently announced film for “Kraven the Hunter”.

This is actually not a rumor anymore since it is from Sony Executive but hopefully, we can finally have a showdown between Spider-Man and the infamous Sinister Six.

The long wait will finally be over as Marvel Studios’ and Columbia Pictures’ “No Way Home” is set for release on December 17, 2021.
