Calling all fellow crewmates! Among Us is coming to PlayStation and Xbox this holiday season so get your head on straight and be ready to sus out the impostor. Yes, you heard it right, the famous online social deduction game is finally premiering on gaming consoles this December 14, 2021.
In an official statement, makers of the game, InnerSloth, announced that Among Us will be available digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and on Xbox Game Pass. Innersloth also revealed that physical copies of the game will be available in different regions depending on the country’s shipping restrictions.
Among Us was initially released in 2018 to minimal fanfare, but since the pandemic saw an increase in popularity for social and multiplayer games, Among Us became more widely known as users played the game with their friends. It doesn’t hurt that popular gaming streamers like Pokimane and Sykkuno regularly played the game on stream, contributing to its popularity. Since then, the game has broken records as the most downloaded mobile game last 2020, getting over 300 million installs since it first launched.
