Coffee sets the mood for the day – good coffee can make a lazy day feel better while bad coffee can literally leave a sour taste in our mouths. But with the pandemic situation worsening around us, going out to order from your favorite third wave coffee shop is not the best thing to do these days, while having coffee delivered comes with hefty charges that we might not want to deal with.

But don’t fret! SEA Wave has curated a few coffee recipes that can make you feel like a barista from the safety and comforts of your home. These are accessible recipes that can easily be replicated, so whether you have a coffee mix or ground coffee beans, just prepare it as you normally would, mix it or brew it in hot water and try these easy-peasy recipes below.

Classic Iced Latte

Ingredients are:

  • 1 cup of brewed or instant coffee
  • Milk
  • Ice cubes

For this recipe, we recommend using brewed coffee, but instant will work just as well. In a mug filled with ice, pour your milk and brewed coffee. Mix them together and you have a classic on your hands. This recipe is as easy as 1-2-3 and you can never go wrong with that milky latte flavor.

Iced Mocha

Ingredients are:

  • 2 teaspoons of instant coffee or 1 cup of brewed coffee
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
  • Hot water
  • Ice cubes
  • Milk

We recommend using instant coffee for this recipe. Mix your instant coffee with brown sugar and cocoa powder in a glass. Dissolve the mixture well in hot water, add some ice cubes and stir in some milk and prepare to be satisfied. For those who want to try out the brewed version, just mix your brown sugar and cocoa powder with a glass of brewed coffee, then add the ice cubes, milk and stir.

You can also opt to put your iced mocha in a mason jar and shake it to incorporate all the flavors together. The important thing in this recipe is to balance your mixture of brown sugar and cocoa powder depending on how sweet or bitter you want your drink to be.

Thai Iced Coffee

Ingredients are:

  • 1 cup of brewed or instant coffee
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon of evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

This sugary concoction is definitely for the sweet toothed so we recommend using brewed coffee for this one. Mix the condensed and evaporated milk in a glass. Add ice and put the coffee on top. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract for that extra flavor, mix everything and enjoy!

Ingredients are:

  • 1 cup of brewed or instant coffee
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut choice
  • The desired amount of sweetener of choice

Peanut butter can make anything better, but have you ever thought about putting it in your morning brew? Given the sweetness of this recipe, we recommend using brewed coffee instead of instant coffee. Mix your sweetener with your cup of coffee. Put the mixture in a blender with peanut butter, coconut oil and evaporated milk. Blend until everything is mixed well and add ice if you prefer. See? What did we tell you, peanut butter really does make anything better.

Ingredients are:

  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of cold water
  • Ice
  • Milk

This recipe is one of the most popular morning companions we’ve had throughout the pandemic. Use a whisk or hand mixer to mix the sugar, coffee, and water in a bowl. Whisk until the mixture is silky smooth, thick and foamy. Fill a glass with ice and milk, then pour the whipped coffee mixture on top and behold your masterpiece! No wonder dalgona coffee has been trending – it looks AND tastes good.

We hope one of these recipes can make your mood better! Now go and be your own barista. Happy caffeinating!
