Netflix and Universal Content Productions (UCP) are reportedly working on an anime adaptation of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series written by Bryan Lee O’Malley, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
The series will get a new lease on life as creator Bryan Lee O’Malley will write and executive produce along with Edgar Wright, the director of the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, who reportedly will also be acting as an executive producer.
According to the same report from THR, there is still no official word on the series order and when it will be made available on the streaming service, so fans will have to take the news with a pinch of salt for now.

This potential brand-new anime adaptation is not the only recent Scott Pilgrim revival as there has been a lot of nostalgia for the cult-favorite property lately. In 2020, the cast of the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World film reunited for a 10-year anniversary table read and interview with Entertainment Weekly, while in 2021, game publisher Ubisoft brought back Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, on modern platforms including Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna.
