Reports have surfaced about Marvel Studios beginning its casting process for the reboot of the Fantastic Four.
After the film’s initial announcement in December 2020, Marvel is yet to disclose details regarding its release and casting. With Fantastic Four being one of the most anticipated releases for MCU Phase 4, fans have taken it upon themselves to dig up news and updates on its production.
A rumor, ignited by Twitter user @MyTimeToShineH, said that the film has started casting members for the superhero group. The user in question had multiple accurate predictions for previous Marvel Studios projects including (spoiler alert) Venom’s appearance in Spider-man: No Way Home, making a lot of people believe the recent scoop.

Earlier, it was announced that Spider-Man: No Way Home director, Jon Watts will be directing the Fantastic Four movie. Fans connecting the dots say that with the recent conclusion of No Way Home, it is most likely that they are moving forward with the Fantastic Four production, hence the casting rumors that are surfacing.
Fans have also been sharing their fancasts for each role, the most popular ones being John Krasinski as Reed Richards and his wife, Emily Blunt as Sue Storm. Digital artist death.streak_art has taken it as far as creating fan art of Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic in an Instagram post and he definitely looks the part!

Marvel fans were also quick to point out that, whether by coincidence or by design, popular fancasts have become official over the years, citing examples like Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in the films and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye series.
If marvel has cast John Krasinski as Reed Richards it hasn’t been unprecedented for them to cast the person that has been the most popular fancast. Hailee and Benedict were the most popular fan cast for Doctor Strange and Kate Bishop before they were cast. pic.twitter.com/Co05p86Q8K

Moreover, word has it that Mr. Fantastic might make a debut on the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, so it’s something fans are also looking forward to, as it could confirm whether Krasinski will be joining the Fantastic Four movie.
For now, though, most of the things we know are speculations. Marvel Studios has not released a formal announcement regarding the Fantastic Four casting. But with the current buzz surrounding the topic, we’re sure it won’t be long until casting updates are announced.
