DC’s upcoming Batgirl movie is in full swing as Leslie Grace, Michael Keaton and the rest of the cast starts production.
Grace will play Barbara Gordon, who dons the cowl as Batgirl. She will be joined by Keaton, who is set to reprise his role as Batman after his long-awaited return in The Flash (coming this year).
Michael Keaton originally played the Darknight Detective in Batman (1989) and its sequel Batman Returns (1992), both directed by Tim Burton. And while fans are excited to see him back as our favorite vigilante, it is revealed that Robin also exists in this adaptation as revealed in set photos shared on social media.

The newly released set photos from Batgirl’s recent filming in Glasgow showed a mural with art showing Keaton’s Batman along with Robin, The Boy Wonder. Although this does not exactly confirm that Robin will appear in the film, it at least implies that Robin exists or existed in some form this universe.
Batgirl will be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, adapted from the script penned by Christina Hodson. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2022 on HBO Max.
