Convenience store chain 7-Eleven has launched anew its newest specially-designed “7-Election” cups for the upcoming presidential national elections on May 9.
From March 9 to April 27, customers may choose their Speak Cup when purchasing a Gulp drink from any 7-Eleven branch in the country. The cups come in two sizes: 22-oz and 12-oz sizes for either hot or cold drinks, featuring the six designs of the presidential candidates: Senator Ping Lacson, Bong Bong Marcos, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Manny Pacquiao, Vice President Leni Robredo, and one cup design for undecided voters. There is also a poll to see who the most popular candidate is based on cup sales.
The 7-Eleven poll first launched in the United States in 2000 and predicted the wins of former President George W. Bush in 2004 and President Barack Obama in 2008. In the Philippines, it predicted the actual election count of the total population nationwide of those in favor of the late president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III during the 2010 elections, and president Rodrigo Roa Duterte in 2016.
