Do you think you have what it takes to be a Hollywood action star? Amazon’s Prime Video is shaking up the reality TV space with James Bond–inspired reality competition series 007’s Road to a Million.
The eight-episode worldwide competition will see candidates compete for a cash prize of £1 million (about $1.3 million). According to Variety, applications are already open, with production set to begin later this year.
“We’re looking for teams of two to take on this exciting mission, jet setting across the globe, facing challenges and using general knowledge for your chance to win the cash!” according to 72 Film’s audition page.
Prior to Amazon’s purchase of James Bond studio MGM in a $8.5 billion agreement announced earlier this month, the project was said to have been in the works at Prime Video for about four years.
007’s Road to a Million will be produced by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson of Britain’s 72 Films, as well as Mark Burnett and Barry Poznick of MGM Television. According to Variety, the series will be shot in a cinematic style around iconic locales from the Bond franchise, with participants through intelligence and endurance tests. To proceed to the next challenge, contestants will compete in two-person teams and must overcome physical challenges as well as answer questions buried in various locations around the world.
In a press statement, Chris Brearton, chief operating officer of MGM said, “We are excited for MGM and its bounty of iconic brands, legendary films and television series, and our incredible team and creative partners to join the Prime Video family.”
The show will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, but no release date has been set.
