Can’t get enough of Star Wars? It’s time for the allies to unite! Aside from the scheduled premieres of Star Wars: Andor in August 2022 and The Mandalorian season 3 in February 2023, the Star Wars universe continues its expansion with Ahsoka Tano’s story who is getting her own Disney+ live-action series next year.

Although plot details and exact release date have yet to be disclosed, Disney made it official by announcing through Twitter that the highly-anticipated show has started its production.

Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as the titular insurgent Force wielder and former Jedi Padawan. Other confirmed cast members include The Society’s Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.

Creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni mentioned that the ‘Ahsoka’ limited series will be a recommenced adventure, set within The Mandalorian timeline where Ahsoka made her first appearance— hunting down Thrawn, an Imperial grand admiral, and her friend Ezra Bridger.

Dave Filoni said in an interview with Vanity Fair: “It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That’s what I want the character to be doing, and I think that’s what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I’ve only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older—they’re very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be.”

While the ‘Ahsoka’ Series is in the works, fans can re-familiarize themselves with her story by watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian season 2 (episode 5), and The Book of Boba Fett (episode 6). All of these can be streamed on Disney+.
