The 74th Emmy Awards finally concluded this week, with Kenan Thompson hosting the ceremonies at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
“Succession,” which received the most nominations (25), won Best Drama and writing for a drama series, and Matthew Macfadyen won for best supporting actor in a drama. “The White Lotus” nabbed awards for best limited series, best screenplay, best directing, and best supporting actor and actress for Murray Bartlett and Jennifer Coolidge, respectively.
Sheryl Lee Ralph received her first Emmy for best supporting actress for “Abbott Elementary,” making her only the second Black woman to do so. Lee Jung-jae became the first person to win best actor in a drama from a foreign language show, “Squid Game.”
“Ted Lasso,” which was nominated for 20 awards, won Best Comedy. Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein were recognized for their performances, and MJ Delaney bagged the directing for comedy prize.
