Scott Pilgrim is indeed back… in an ideal form as an upcoming anime series on Netflix.
The title is “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off”, which is expected to be a more faithful exploration of the original comic book series created by Bryan Lee O’Malley and a more expanded adaptation of the universe after Edgar Wright’s cult classic film.
Wright will be a Executive Producer for the anime series, but what’s more exciting is that he’s bringing in the cast from his film to do the voice work. Brace yourselves.
Michael Cera returns as Scott Pilgrim alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers. The rest of the cast includes Satya Bhabha (Matthew Patel), Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells), Chris Evans (Lucas Lee), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Pilgrim), Brie Larson (Envy Adams), Alison Pill (Kim Pine), Aubrey Plaza (Julie Powers), Brandon Routh (Todd Ingram), Jason Schwartzman (Gideon Graves), Johnny Simmons (Young Neil), Mark Webber (Stephen Stills), Mae Whitman (Roxie), and Ellen Wong (Knives Chau).
A first-look trailer was also released by Netflix, and they also announced that the series will be premiering globally in the streaming platform this November 17!
