Comprised of five members—Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken and Justin—the P-pop boy group debuted in 2018 and made a splash less than a year later with their viral practice video for their song “Go Up.” With international nominations and awards from Asia Artist Awards, Awit Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards, SB19 is currently one of the most recognized P-pop groups in the world. They also hold the distinction of being the first Filipinos and Southeast Asians nominated for Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards in 2021.
Their PAGTATAG! World Tour recently concluded this May and was well received by critics. The tour had legs in the Philippines, United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates and Japan, making the announcement of the documentary film even more exciting. The film will feature the ups and downs of the tour, starting from their first concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 2023 up until the finale concert held at the same venue, almost a year later, where they formally announced the documentary.
“Gento,” the single off their latest album, was approved as an entry to the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, falling short of an official nomination. However, it didn’t stop the song from going viral on TikTok, with over 1.7 million videos using the song as background music. Most recently, the group collaborated with Ian Asher and Terry Zhong for the dance-pop song “Moonlight,” and with apl.de.ap for club single “Ready.”
