Intramuros is known for its defensive walls, cobblestone streets, and unique landmarks. If you want to visit the walled city’s most famous spots, then get yourself an Intramuros Passport—your ticket to explore the timeless charm of the historic location. With exciting perks and more, the passport ensures that visitors are in for a treat when travelling around Intramuros.
The passport grants access to five gated spots in the walled city, including Fort Santiago—a military defense fortress built by Spanish governor Miguel Lopez de Legazpi in the late 16th century; the Baluarte de San Diego—a bastion made to defend the area against invasion; the Casa Manila—a museum depicting the typical colonial lifestyle during the Spanish colonization;. Museo de Intramuros—ecclesiastical museum with various cultural and religious imagery and objects; and Centro de Turismo—a tourist hub and museum located inside the reconstructed San Ignacio Church, featuring 8,000 artifacts.
The Intramuros passport will also include free tranvia rides every weekend, inspired by the trams that were used in the streets of pre-war Manila, modeled after the rolling stock of Meralco in the 1910s.
Purchase your own Intramuros passports at Fort Santiago or at the Centro de Turismo Visitor’s Center. For inquiries and other information, check out the Facebook page of the Intramuros Administration.
