This fall, we see some of the biggest anime franchises coming back for a new season. From beloved superheroes, to spy families and more, join us as we take a look at the High Five returning anime this October and beyond!

My Hero Academia Season 8

Deku and his classmates are taking their final bow as students in the final season of My Hero Academia. Since the premiere of Kohei Horikoshi’s anime adaptation in April 2016, the anime’s fanbase has only grown with the series. In a society where everyone had quirks (powers), Deku was sadly not blessed with one. But when he meets All Might, the number one hero in Japan, Deku receives the All for One ability and has continued to grow as a hero alongside friends and foes.

This eighth season is the last and will conclude with the adaptation of the final arc. The story will include a timeskip, character development, and Deku battling Shigaraki, the One for All ability successor and main antagonist, one last time to save humanity. The flagship anime may be ending, but due to its popularity, it has spawned a spin-off series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and a live-action adaptation courtesy of Netflix. Catch My Hero Academia Season 8 every Saturday on Crunchyroll.

SPY x FAMILY Season 3

The Forgers are back! Everyone’s favorite found family: Loid, Yor, and Anya Forger return with more adventures to keep the world at peace while hiding their true identities from each other as Loid the spy, Yor the assassin, and Anya the psychic. Fans speculate that this third season will adapt the Red Circus arc, where Anya and her classmates are endangered while on a school trip. Loid and Yor have to save them without revealing their true identities to each other.

New episodes of Spy x Family Season 3 are available to watch every Saturday on Crunchyroll and Netflix, so stay tuned!

Ranma ½ Season 2

Ranma and Akane return to make you feel the romance! Ranma ½ is a remake of the classic original 1989 anime. The story follows Ranma, a cursed martial artist who turns into a girl when subjected to cold water, and his fiancée, Akane, as they navigate around the curse and fall in love despite the arranged nature of their relationship.

Season 2 has the couple dealing with a third party who claims to be Ranma’s fiancée. Will Ranma and Akane be able to reconcile, or will this new development tear them apart? Catch Ranma ½ Season 2 on Netflix every Saturday.

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Season 2

Who’s getting hungry? We know we are! Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill returns just in time to satisfy our anime cravings with season 2. This is the only isekai anime on the list where the protagonist is summoned and is transported to another world from the real world. In this case, salaryman Mukoda Tsuyoshi is given the skill of an otherworldly shopper who can bring ingredients from his world into the other and create amazing dishes. In doing so, he gains unlikely allies and adventures while creating scrumptious meals for himself and them.

Catch Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill season 2 on October 7!

One-Punch Man Season 3

Last on the list, but definitely not the least is everyone’s favorite nonchalant hero—One-Punch Man! The series is known because of its unique blend of comedy and action, following Saitama and his pursuit of strength as a hero. The past two seasons had Saitama defeat world-ending threats with just the power of his fists, while season 3 looks to adapt the “Monster Arc.”

The Monster Association commences a raid on the Hero Association, and a captured monster goes free. Based on the trailer, heroes have limiters that protect them from complications. Once that limiter is crossed, you become a monster that sheds your old self. Not Saitama, apparently, and he’s about to get into a deadly confrontation between the associations without being aware of it. Catch One Punch Man season 3 on October 12!

But wait, there’s more! Among the new anime coming out this October are Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider, Let’s Play!, Gintama – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class, and Disney Twisted-Wonderland—a unique blend of superheroes, romance, comedy, and subverted genres of anime that will surely entertain both anime enthusiasts and those just about to get into it.
