Trading card games have seen a recent resurgence around the world, and Singapore was no exception. Just last year, around 1,000 spectators gathered around the Pokémon Center at Jewel Changi Airport for the launch of the then-latest Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions card set.  Now, an unlikely company announced that they have officially launched Card Arena, a hub for trading card game (TCG) players, collectors and enthusiasts.

MyRepublic is the telecommunications company powering Card Arena, with the goal of supporting the local TCG community. The space encourages buying, selling, trading and playing card games, while showcasing the offerings of partner shops and TCG groups, as well as MyRepublic’s own retail offerings.

“Card Arena was created to give the TCG community a reliable, neutral space to play, run events, and connect. Our goal isn’t to compete with existing shops, it’s to support the ecosystem by offering a venue that complements what others are already doing,” said Terry Williams, MyRepublic’s VP Consumer, in a statement.

Card Arena is not just a hangout spot with fellow traders, but a place to connect and compete. And while the Pokémon Trading Card Game is definitely one of the most popular TCGs in the global community, the space is not exclusive to Pokémon card collectors. Card Arena recently held a Magic: The Gathering – Universes Beyond: CHAOS Sealed match, but the hub itself also promises weekly matches alongside monthly tournaments and learn-to-play sessions for various games, for those who want to learn about the community or just learn a new hobby. The hub also features livestream-ready kiosks, scar scanners for instant price checks, and consignment cabinets for rent.

So if you’re into TCG, then you’re in luck. Visit Card Arena in Suntec City Mall and follow the latest happenings for TGC events through their Instagram.
