Pokemon Pop-Up Trucks Taking Southeast Asia By Storm

Pop up stores are opening in Malaysia and Singapore to celebrate the release of Nintendo Switch 2’s Pokemon Pokopia.

Game developer Shigeru Ohmori, best known for his work as director of various Pokémon games, created Pokopia to explore a different, non-RPG way to express the individuality of Pokémon. It’s a unique game that has Ditto standing in for the humans since they’re gone and the world has become desolate. With the help of a Tangrowth, Ditto revitalizes society and works with other Pokémon to cultivate life on the planet, all through a slow life and farming simulator-type game that brings a refreshing take on the franchise.

The Pokémon pop-up trucks are now open at Bugis+ in Singapore and at Klang Valley in Malaysia, outfitted with LEDs and traveling nationwide to get Pokémon fans to try the new game. There are four to five spaces for players to test out Pokémon Pokopia live, and afterwards, they can grab a free Pokémon sun visor while stocks last, and get a chance to win an exclusive sticker through a game trial. You can get a chance to meet Pikachu in person too!

The trucks are open every weekend until June 4th with additional dates coming soon. Stay tuned to the official Pokémon Singapore and Malaysia social media pages for updates.
