All I want is nothing more than to hear Kodaline one last time!
The group announced their disbandment in 2025 after a decade of creating emotional ballads with dreamy melodies and heart-felt lyrics. Alongside the announcement was the reveal of their farewell tour around the world, and the planned release of their final album titled We Were Only Young.
The Irish rock band Kodaline first came together in 2005 as 21 Demands. It wasn’t until 2011 that they renamed the group to what we know them as today. The band consisted of Steve Garrigan (lead singer, piano, guitar), Vincent May (drums), Mark Prendergast (lead guitar), and Jason Boland (bass guitar), and first came to prominence for their 2013 album In A Perfect World. Songs such as “All I Want” and “High Hopes”—two of their most popular songs used in films and television shows like The Fault in Our Stars and Grey’s Anatomy–came from their first album, earning them a shot to stardom. The band has also been recognized by award-giving bodies including the European Border Breakers Awards, the Public Choice Awards, and the Music Moves Europe Awards.
Because of the group’s success and award-winning streak, news of their break-up surprised people around the world. While no reason was cited for the breakup, the group nonetheless expressed their gratitude to their fans.
“From busking on the streets of Dublin, to playing shows across the world, it really has been the stuff that dreams are made of,” they shared in an announcement video last October 2025.
As Kodaline prepares for their last hurrah, Southeast Asians can still catch them live one last time at The Star Theater in Singapore on August 8; at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines on August 10; at Idea Live Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on August 26; and at UOBLIVE in Bangkok, Thailand on August 28 and 29.
