Anime fans – behold! Remember Slam Dunk, the anime about basketball in the 90s? It is rebounding again in the spotlight because it is coming back with a new film!
The surprising news was announced by Slam Dunk creator and famous mangaka, Takehiko Inoue on his Twitter account.

The movie also launched its website – https://slamdunk-movie.jp/ but the full details of the project have not yet been announced.
It follows the story of Hanamichi Sakuragi, a gang leader, as he became part of the Shohoku High School’s Basketball Team. Throughout the series, the basketball team aims to become the best basketball team in Japan. Other famous characters from the series are Haruko Akagi, Kaede Rukawa, Takenori Akagi, Hisashi Mitsui, Ryota Miyagi, and Coach Mitsuyoshi Anzai.
Slam Dunk is one of the most popular manga and anime in Japan which run from 1990 to 1996 and sold over 126 million copies in the country. The anime was also aired in several parts of the globe and in the Philippines, it also became one of the most popular anime when the time it was aired.
